Born in Winfield, Illinois in July of 1977, Jason Kifer has been training in martial arts for more than 30 years. He began his leadership training when he was only 10 years old and earned his Black Belt before he was a teenager. When he was 16, he completed his certification program to become one of the youngest instructors in the United States.
Here it is, over 15 years later, and Kifer is considered by his seniors to be one of the best instructors in the country, while placing an emphasis on helping his students and their families learn together.
Kifer is an 8th Degree Black Belt in Hap Ki Do, a 6th degree in Tang Soo Do, and a 5th degree in Kobudo. He also holds Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do and Iaido. He has appeared in both television and the cinema along with the likes of Steve Martin, Kevin Bacon, Laura Dern, Haley Joel Osment and McKenzie Phillips to name a few.
One of Kwanjanim Kifer’s highlights was being asked by Chuck Norris to do stunts on an episode of “Walker, Texas Ranger.” Since he started competing in 1996, Kifer has accumulated over 15 national titles and 11 world titles. More impressive than his many tournament wins is that fact that he has personally trained over twenty of his own students who have gone on to become national and world champions.
Jason served as president of the World Premier Karate Association and the head coach for Team USA from 2005 through 2006. In 2006, both United Professionals and Black Belt Schools International named Kifer and his wife’s martial arts academy, Superstar Karate, one of the “Top 20 Fastest Growing Martial Arts Schools” in the United States. In 2007 and 2008, Superstar Karate was named, by the same two organizations, one of the “Top 200 Martial Arts Schools” and “Top 100 Martial Arts Schools” in the United States respectively.
Respected for his business practices, Kwanjanim Kifer serves as a business coach to martial arts school owners across the country. Kifer continues to train in the martial arts on a daily basis with his brother Master Adam Kifer and is currently working toward earning his 9th Degree Black Belt.
Jason Kifer has dedicated his life to teaching and enhancing the martial arts for current and future generations of practitioners. It has been his humble spirit, commitment to traditional values, continuing education, commitment to be the best and unending dedication to his students that has earned him many outstanding honors. One can always recognize a true and dedicated leader by his accomplishments.
