About

My degree in voice performance and my 40 plus years of performing in both classical and music theatre provide a wealth of experience to draw upon, and I teach mainly in those two genres. I am excellent at selecting songs, I also teach sight reading, vocal warm ups and more. Join me in my home studio.

I love teaching, and watching, and sharing, the discoveries and joy that music brings to people.

Lisa was extremely knowledgeable about vocal technique and wonderful at teaching things without it feeling too technical or complicated to do.

Frequently asked questions

There is a lot to find out and discuss in the first few lessons.  First off - I ask what the student's goals are? What singing have they done recently or anytime in their life? Is there something specific they want to learn? I also need to determine their musical skill level - many people want to sing but can't read music. Musical style and choices also need to be discussed and selections will be made at an early lesson. I work with many digital tools as well, and encourage my students to as well. I welcome individuals who are passionate about music and learning.

Yes - my degree in Voice Performance, my teaching for more than a decade, my 40+ years of performing, vocal directing, and producing music and theatre of many types, my participation in the vocal arts community are all examples of my skill set and what I bring to my students.

Lessons are $60 an hour. Every single one of my students and their families believes it is an investment and that my pricing is reasonable for the return they receive.

I had been getting requests to teach through out my career and over ten years ago, I finally had a job that provided enough flexibilty for me to start teaching.  What start with just two or three students is now a successful studio with an annual recital and 16 current students.

I have taught ages from 10 to 80. All of my students have had choir or piano or music of some sort or style.

Every June, I hold a studio recital. It is a lovely afternoon of family, friends, and music. The talent is wonderful too.

If you under 10 years of age, take piano lessons.  Private voice lessons are much more successful if the student reads music.

If you are under 10 years of age but wanting to prepare for a specific event - contact me for short term lessons.

Understand that I teach you how to sing - technique - not just songs to sing.

Adults returning to music are welcome.

What is my goal? What do I want to achieve? How long do I want to take lessons?
