About
Hi, I’m Maddi! I’ve been playing percussion for 15 years and just recently graduated with my Masters in Percussion Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. I have spent two summers performing in Santa Barbara, CA with the Music Academy of the West as well as the Texas Music Festival in Houston, Texas, and I also have experience playing with orchestras such as the Kansas City Symphony and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. I’m currently taking auditions to win a spot in a professional orchestra and beginning to teach percussion privately.
I love to teach and can work with any students of all ages and levels! From basic technique and sound concepts on each instrument, to preparing for auditions and performances, our lessons would be tailored to fit the needs of each student.
I love exploring the range of emotion and expression of our human experiences just by the act of creating sound. Sharing knowledge and guidance to others in our journies to good musicianship is very enjoyable for me, and helps me learn more as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All lessons will be tailored to the needs of each student. First, I will discuss with the student what their goals are, and what they would like to achieve with the lessons. Then, I would assess where the student is at in terms of their abilities (technique, reading music, musicianship). If a student is a beginner, we can start with basic technique, exercises, and etudes. For more advanced students, we can work on further improvement and tackling repertoire.
