I was limited in my skill because I was lacking in my knowledge. I tried books, magezines, YouTube and everything free. Those resources definitely helped but only to scratch the surface. They helped me learn that and understanding of music theory was necessary. As a result, Im current

I focus on three fundamental areas: Rhythm, fingering, and note reading. No matter the skill level, these are necessary abilities for any type of music. By focusing on these in the beginning, the student is able to confidently approach new music. Also, the student is able to play with the expression they desire.
I have taught for over 17 years in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas (Carmel, Fishers). I have a Bachelors and Masters in Piano Pedagogy from Butler University.
I am the co-owner of the studio where I teach, Premier Music Studios.
Our academy has 16 to 18 teachers at any given time who teach a wide range of instruments including piano, violin, viola, guitar, wind instruments, drums, and we have a youth theater program. Our concert showcases are unique in that students of all instruments and skill levels participate. Even though a student is taking piano or violin lessons, there is intangible value in the constant exposure to other instruments and students.
Like most music teachers our instructors are professional, degree musicians. Most are active performers as well as teachers.
