Taylor lessons to meet the goals of the student. Accept all ages and backgrounds. I have a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from UMKC Conservatory and 30+ years of experience.

I have been playing piano for two decades and French horn for over 15 years. I studied at UMKC's Conservatory of music, have played in K-State's top ensembles and marching band, as well as countless other solo and small ensemble gigs throughout Kansas City. My teaching focuses on building excellent fundamentals through songs that are fun to play. The better students develop strong basics the more fun songs they can play! Music shouldn't feel like a chore, so I work with my students to build practice habits that are enjoyable while improving their skills.

I feel I'm good at working with an individual's strengths and weaknesses to bring out their personal best. I strive for optimal technical training, balanced with the recognition that violin playing should also be rewarding & fun musically. I've taught in the KC area since 1978. My undergrad degree is MusEd. I have a MMus and DMA coursework in violin performance. Viola students accepted as well. Every student is unique!

Hello! I'm Christy, and I'm a 10-year piano instructor and lifelong piano player. My local music experience includes being an accompanist for the Shawnee Mission School District high schools. In that position, I had the opportunity to accompany solo voice, band and string students in local and state competitions.
