Teigan Maynard's Art Gallery
About
I am an artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. I have been painting since childhood. My artwork is displayed at NOLA RampArt Gallery at 1000 Rampart Street. I am an alumni of YA/YA, I studied Fine Arts and Computer Graphic Design in college and I have exhibited my art multiple times throughout New Orleans and most recently through Raw Artist. I work mainly in my own style as well as in abstract expressionist/ surrealism painting style. My paintings reflect the emotions, surrounding environment, culture and traditions that I face. I create unique works that express meaningful views that somewhat goes unnoticed.
I love to create and to teach others how to express themselves freely through creativity. I set an environment of artistic wonder with classical music, poetry and the focus on opening the mind. Art is meant for expression, release, dreams, and fun! I love to teach what I have learned in my 27 years of painting and creating.
“Every artist was first an amateur” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
“We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents” - Bob Ross
“In the mind of every artist there is a masterpiece” - Kai Greene
“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen” - Leonardo da Vinci
I enjoy the relaxation and creativity of painting. Teaching others how to create their own work of art is a blessing.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who actually enjoys art. Someone who sees painting as a passion and not as a job. I say this because knowing individuals who look for art lessons, I've been told that they enjoy the experience when their instructor loves and gets excited about art. That they feel as if they can get more from from a hands-on teacher.
