Cooking With Jen
About
I customize the class to the need of the student. Let me know what you'd like to make or learn and we go from there.
I have over 30 years experience in dealing with food and all aspects of cooking.
I've worked everything from a sandwich shop to catering high end events at the Boston Ballet.
I've trained other chefs and cooks on different quisines.
I've had students in the past and have taught them everything from making chili to decorative presentations of food.
I've always loved food. Making it, eating it, and selling it. It has made me happy to see others enjoy what I make them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what the student's goals are and develop a plan from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started my informal training with my family. My Great Grandmother taught me how to bake the Irish way. My Grandmother taught me a lot about savory dishes from her country in the Baltic States. My Step Grandfather taught me dishes from Southern Italy.
Then came Julia Child. I never liked cartoons much as a kid, so I watched Julia on PBS...and was that great.
I learned my skills by working and experimenting. I wanted to learn about making Indian food....I got a job at an Indian restaurant.
I've also learned a lot from other people I've worked with, everyone has a family recipe they are proud of and I have been blessed that many have shared those with me.
I also did go to Syracuse University and studied food management and food science.
