About
Hi!
My name is Roxanne Morse and I am a professional actor with 15 years of acting experience and training. I have acted in major studio and independent films and television shows, national and local commercials, commercial photo shoots, and web series. I also produce a web series and other videos.
My experience and training has led me to develop physical, vocal and mind practices that keep me centered and in the moment. I am relaxed and alert, ready to act. I have been teaching these practices to actors for 4 years and continue to learn and develop new techniques.
My class stands out because I teach actors to focus on their breath and use it as a tool. The class is suitable for beginners and experienced actors. It is suitable for people of all physical abilities. Each lesson includes physical and vocal warm ups and scene or monologue practice. The classes are small so each person has individual attention. My class is a safe place to explore, expand, make mistakes and learn.
My fees are very reasonable. I charge $25 per person for a one hour lesson at my home in Stoughton. I charge $50 for the first person for a two hour lesson if I travel to your place. Each additional person is charged $25.
I am available most days and evenings and weekends.
I most enjoy helping actors develop an awareness of their potential as actors as artists. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the acting process and my best practices for actors. Finally, I enjoy meeting and learning from my students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a chat with a prospective new student on the phone to see if we agree that what I teach meets the student's needs. At the first lesson, I give more detailed background on my training process and I teach the movements and exercises for physical warm ups and vocal warm ups. Then, I teach the cold reading process and we practice reading a scene. I highly recommend the students practice the physical and vocal warm ups everyday.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For almost 15 years, I have trained with Jock MacDonald at Straeon Studios, Acting for Film and Television, in Boston. I have also taken acting improv classes; physical theatre classes in Action Theatre, Butoh and Brazilian theatre; Linklatter and Rodenburg classes for voice and Shakespeare; and a cappella singing classes.
