Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student is to first assess the student's current skills and level of experience. Once I understand their background and goals, I will explain the fundamentals of the game of tennis, such as strokes, rules, and strategy. Then I will develop a plan for their practice that will include drills and games based on the student's goals. I also like to make sure that I provide encouragement and positive reinforcement throughout the process, as it is important for a student to recognize their own improvements and successes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years of tennis experience from my professional career in South America, Europe, and the USA. I was personally trained for 10 years by a coach who was rated 100 ATP in singles and 80 ATP in doubles. I also have over 5 years of teaching experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have a standard pricing system for my lessons. I offer one-on-one individual lessons for $60 per hour, and group lessons for $40 per person per hour. I also offer packages of five to 10 lessons for discounted rates, with the cost depending on the number of lessons purchased.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching tennis when I was approached by a local sports academy that was looking for a tennis coach. I had played professionally for many years and was trained by some of the top coaches in the sport, so I felt I had the knowledge and experience to be a great teacher. I applied, was hired, and the rest is history! I've been teaching for five years now and absolutely love it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide variety of students, from beginner level to more advanced players. I have also worked with adults looking to learn tennis for recreational purposes, as well as students hoping to pursue a career in the sport. No matter the skill level or reason for taking lessons, I always strive to ensure my students learn the fundamentals and develop their skills
