What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to take the first lesson to establish what the student's goals are in terms of the musical instrument they are learning. I always find out what the student knows, and what they want to know. I'm a firm believer in starting with the basics no matter how advanced the student is.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing banjo since 2011, guitar since 2010, drums since 2008, and singing since 2011. I've performed in several bands and in coffee houses throughout the years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $20 per lesson. If you buy 10 lessons, the price is $150.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are fun, engaging, and enthusiastic. Patience helps as well!
