N.C. 1. says, "Paul Dillon is my drum teacher. He is positive smart and friendly and I enjoy seeing him every Sunday for my drum lesson. It is always fun to go to drum lessons. My favorite part is playing new songs. Paul knows the right way to play a song. When I have trouble playing a beat, Paul shows me an easy way to do it. It really helps to have Paul encourage me. Paul as my drum teacher makes me feel confident that I too will be able to play like him." Read more

Sara P. says, "My ten year old son has been taking guitar lessons from Greg for a few years now and we couldn’t be happier with the results. In just a few lessons Max was able to play The intro to his favorite AC/DC song. Since then he has learned so much and he looks forward to his lesson with Greg every week. I really love Greg’s teaching style because he really listens to my son and gives him the freedom to express himself creatively all the while covering all the fundamental building blocks of learning to play guitar. At what age do you start drum lessons?

Children can start drum lessons between 6 to 9 years old. Initial instruction begins with a single drum. Kids can't play on a full drum kit until they can reach the foot pedals and focus for extended periods of time. For adults, any age is suitable to learn drumming.

How many drum lessons do you need?

You will need drum lessons every week for about half a year to a whole year in order to learn to play simple songs. If you want to audition for a band or play drums like a pro, it usually takes 2 to 5 years of lessons.

How fast you learn depends on how good you are now and how much you practice.

  • How many types of drum music can you teach me?

Our daughter has loved taking lessons with Paul. She is not new to playing an instrument but had no prior exposure to the drums (or to rock music) and Paul quickly found a way to get her hooked on both! Paul has a great laid-back manner of instruction yet always manages to accomplish a lot at each lesson. Our daughter always leaves with a smile on her face and more skills in her pocket.

I am a 74 year old drummer who took lessons in high school and never played for 50 years until 3 years ago. Even though it instantly came back to me I felt that something was missing. When I contacted Tony on the first lesson he asked me what I would like to accomplish if he were to teach me. I asked him to start with the basics as though I had never played before. He did, he not only had me doing basic rudiments he coached me on bringing my confidence level up, taught me how to tune my drums properly, and to this date im playing with much more confidence and my playing ability has greatly improved because of Tony's ability to teach and recognize my playing problems. Even though I now play in a band I will be staying with tony for drum lessons and I highly recommend him to anyone who is either a beginner or accomplished drummer. He's great and his personalty and demeanor is that of a professional.

Thank you for being my drum teacher and helping me improve a lot over the past year. The work we did with my senior district piece helped me a lot and without your help I wouldn't have made server districts.

Ok so listen, I’m a 34 year old that woke up one day and decided to take piano lessons. I feel like this paints the picture. It’s scientifically proven that it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But taking lessons with Greg has been the opposite of that. He’s patient. He’s funny. His teaching style isn’t too stuffy so he makes you feel relaxed. He’s definitely taught this old dog new tricks. I would definitely recommend him to anyone of any age to take lessons with him.
