About

It is important to me that I inspire students to be mindful musicians and to live with a love of learning. I encourage students of all ages to seek out new music and explore new ideas, develop the discipline to do their best, and to find a place for music to live within and throughout their lives.

I love helping others find their unique voice and assist them in developing the ability to communicate through song. Empowerment through song, freedom and strength of movement in one’s body are traits I want to joyfully inculcate in my students, no matter the age or level of musicianship. Singing is not something to be left to the professionals! It is a basic human instinct that I believe everyone, at any age, should be encouraged to express and experience fully.

Katerina has helped me grow so much and I’ve only had four lessons out of my seven lesson class. She always accounts for me coming in and asking if we could focus on a specific thing, she’s always patient from when I struggle to find a starting note to when I don’t read the music too well, to having to reschedule last minute and to everything in between. She’s also just a ton of fun to work with! I highly recommend working with her!

    Frequently asked questions

First 30 minute consultation is free. We will meet, discuss your personal goals, talk a little about your vocal background, and sing a bit. From there, we will collaborate and develop a semester-long plan for reperatoire, strengthening vocal technique, and any performance preparation you may have.

Katerina studied with Robin L. Massie and received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College, in Princeton NJ. While there, she coached with Rachelle Jonck and soprano Carolann Page, and was a member of the Westminster Choir, under the direction of Dr. Joe Miller. udied with Robin L. A church musician for over 20 years, Katerina is trained in Gregorian chant and choral conducting. She currently is a cantor at the historic Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester, where she also assists in coaching the high-school chant schola, and has acted as a clinician for the children's choir.

2020 rates are $50/hr when registering for full academic semester (8 - 12 weeks), $60/hr for drop in lessons

It is vital to sing what you love! Think about what kind of music you love to sing along to - from there, we can grow and broaden your technique! While my training is primarily in classical reperatoire, I grew up singing classic rock, musical theater, folk, and jazz. One of my primary focuses is teaching vocal technique through the medium which the student most enjoys singing and helping them develop self-awareness in their musical expression, while exposing them to different genres. Students who are taught healthful and conscious vocal technique can grow and excel singing any kind of music.
