About
I'm a professional musician with over 40 years of training and performance experience as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
I've studied many vocal technique methodolgies to strengthen the voice in a way that singing becomes free and easy. The combination of methods used is appropropriate for all styes of singing.
In our lessons we will:
Focus on vocal technique to improve flexibility, range and control of vocal production, thus creating new vocal habits
Enhance storytelling with emphasis on clear diction, song analysis, emotional connection and believability
Improve performance skills by learning how to connect with audiences, stay in the moment and to own the stage.
I love music and truly believe that I was born a musician. I grew up singing in the gospel choir at church. I studied violin for 15 years and hold a Bacherlor of Arts degree in classical flute performance. I also have a Masters Degree and an Artist Diploma from theh famed New England Conservatory of Music. I been performing since the age of 4 and to this day that is my biggest joy. The conneciton and energy exchanged between myself and the audience is electrfying.
As a professor/teacher I give 100% and expect my students to do the same. With focused daily practice, progress/improvement begins to show fairly quickly. It warms my heart and makes me smile when the student notices the difference and is able to maintain the new vocal habit. At this point, there is a lot of "high-fiving" happening. I enjoy celebrating small victories.
I have sharp ears and often stop the student if the vocal production isn't correct. I prefer to make the correction immediatly instead of practicing a bad habit.
I celebrate the small
