Welcome Friends! Congratulations on taking a step towards your musical dreams. This takes courage and commitment. I have been walking with fiddle and banjo students on their musical journey for 50 years now and have found encouragement, positivity, fun and paying close attention to each person's unique learning style are key elements to progress. I look forward to meeting you. I teach clawhammer banjo and old-time and Celtic fiddle styles. I am certified in Book 1A Suzuki Violin training which gives me a foundation for ergonomic posture and a deep understanding that I am a fiddler not a violinist.

Jennifer is patient, humorous, and finds ways to keep my wife and I engaged in our musical journey. She has a deep knowledge of traditional folk music and we appreciate the way in which she can switch between the banjo (my choice) and the acoustic guitar (Janies choice) when working with us. I took some fiddle lessons in high school, but wanted to learn tunes without relying as heavily on sheet music. Jennifer listened to where I was at with the fiddle, and what I hoped to learn, and focuses the lessons around that. We meet weekly for lessons which happen entirely on zoom, which works well for my schedule. Jennifer is so friendly, I have had a great time improving my fiddle skills.

Jennifer is a great teacher who is very accommodating and helpful for people who learn at different paces and have busy schedules. One of my favorite things about Jennifer is she never makes me feel judged if I didn’t have time to practice the following week. As an adult learning an instrument I have taken leaps and bounds forward in a relatively short amount of time thanks to Jennifer’s unique teaching methods.
