“I listened to David Thompson speak at my high school back in 2014, and he knows what it takes to thrive and survive in the world of acting.”

“My initial thought when I met David Thompson, was that he was another scammer like the others. I was wrong. I didn’t know what the meaning of acting was until he showed me all that I was missing. He doesn’t just teach me, he helps me in auditioning, finding opportunities and invests his time in my career. I feel more confident after working with him. David has taught me to place myself in the shoes of the character. He’s not just an acting coach, he’s more like family. I believe I can reach my full potential with him in my corner. David can change your life for the better by altering the way you think and see life. David Thompson wants to see you succeed and that is what I respect about him. A good coach is hard to find. If you have the opportunity to work with David I suggest you take it. “

David is an amazing acting coach. He is expressive, has great insight, gives instrumental direction and engages his class kinesthetically and using all 5 senses. After connecting with David, not only did he help me breath life in characters; but, because of his connections in the industry, I got a role in a hit stage play! If you are looking to take your acting career to the next level, I strongly recommend David Thompson.

David pushes me until I give a good performance. Something real, he knows it when he sees it. Gives me not only acting advice but LIFE advice, which David understands goes hand in hand. Can’t wait for what’s to come in our lessons.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching in 2014. After 25 years, I knew I had more than enough knowledge to teach professionally.

I have taught at high schools, colleges and talent agencies.

I teach actors nationally and internationally. Some of my students are located in Kenya, Nigeria, Russia and the United Kingdom.

What types of students have you worked with?

Beginning actors to advanced actors

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I coached a group of film actors for a film called, Picture on the Wall. Written and directed by Sara Livingston.

The cast and crew were amazing and responded well with my coaching. It was a great experience.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Ask for a free consulation. You should be sure both you and the coach are comfortable with each other. A good chemisty is essential to ensure proper growth both personally and professionally.

Ask questions such as:

How long have you been teaching?
Do you teach certain ages or are you open to any age?

What do you teach? What is your expertise?

**Ask for references.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Ask yourself:

Who am I as an actor?

What do I want to become?
When do I want to accomplish a certain goal?

Where do I want to move when I reach said goal?

Why do I want to become an actor? Personal development, monetary gain, popularity?

How will I cope with challenges that an acting career brings? Do I have the support of my family and friends?
