About
Hi! My name is Sofia and I have a passion for music and singing. I have been classically training privately for about 7 years, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music, with emphasis in Vocal Performance from Grand Valley State University. I have a lot of knowledge on how to sing in a healthy way, and can discern quickly when someone has an issue with their voice, knowing how to adjust. I want to share my gift! And help someone who wants assistance to become the best singer they can be.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First of all, I like to get to know the person: what is their voice type, how much experience they have singing, what styles they would like to work on. Once that is learned, we move on to warming up a bit and gaging their instrument.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Grand Valley State University, Bachelor of Music with emphasis in Vocal Performance. I have also been training with renowned operatic tenors, and have participated in master classes in New York City
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard rate is $25 for a half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I first started teaching while I was still working on my undergrad degree to make ends meet as a full-time student.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Singing is always a work in progress. Don't buy into the teachers that will "give you a perfect voice" in very short amount of time, because usually that involves unhealthy techniques.
