I have music education degree and over 18 years experience teaching several instruments. I have performed on all of the instruments I teach- professionally on french horn and drum set. I have students achieving all-state honors almost every year and several that are now music teachers themselves. That said, my goal is lifelong enjoyment of music through knowledge and skill.
One-on-one interaction. My dad was an elementary school counselor and my mom was a music teacher and I think I'm just a combination!

Dan is a fantastic teacher! He helped me progress from beginner to all-state horn student. He explains things so clearly and always has creative ways of practicing and helping students overcome technical or musical challenges. He did a great job of encouraging me to work hard without taking the joy out of the process.

When my daughter was going into 6th grade she wanted to start playing an instrument. She didn’t know what instrument she wanted to play. Dan had her try out a few different kinds of instruments and she selected an instrument that was just perfect for her: Double French Horn. He worked with her over the summer to get ready for 6th grade band. He was patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Today, 5 years later she is still playing the French Horn. Dan is an excellent instructor.

He provides lessons geared towards your learning style and at your pace-all while providing constructive criticism to get you to that next level. His rates are also fair and reasonable.
