Music is personal and brings us into contact with ourselves, with other people, and with something beyond us. I am passionate about this awareness that results from the study of performing arts.

I have a Masters degree from the Sorbonne, a diploma in organ performance from the Conservatoire de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (France), and a Bachelor of Music from Valparaiso University (Indiana). From 2010 to 2013 I was professor of piano and musicianship at the Conservatoire de Musique in Ezanville (France).

I love helping people experience music as a powerful personal and interpersonal process. I love seeing the next generation grow and become our world. I love seeing adults begin something they have longed to do their whole lives. I love to be a companion on that journey.

I am accepting new students who desire lessons on a weekly basis.

Laura is a phenomenal teacher who loves to share her passion for music. Both my 10-year-old and I have been taking piano lessons for the past year at Lauras studio, and we have found our learning experience challenging and fun. Laura consistently meets is where we are with our progress, and always wants learning piano to be an enjoyable experience.

I had two months of lessons with Laura over the summer and learned a ton of new things. Laura has many tricks to help me practicing and get into good playing habits. She gradually add layers of interpretation techniques to a piece, and without realizing it, I had already progressed a lot. Unfortunately I have to move to a new place, otherwise I would definitely love to continue piano study with Laura!

Laura was the 1st piano teacher of our daughter Julie - 6 years old at the time at the Conservatoire de musique dÉzanville - France. Laura clearly set the basis for Julie to progress steadily, she is good with children, flexible and firm on what need to be done (like practicing regularly at home).

Laura is a fantastic teacher and extremely knowledgeable in all things music. She’s “a wealth of knowledge,” according to her colleagues. Laura is kind, patient, and has worked especially well with anxious adult students, like me. She is also calm and gives excellent advice for improving my voice, I leave her lessons feeling encouraged. I am fortunate to have found her!

Laura is my daughters voice teacher and has helped her grow as a student and as a vocalist. Laura tailors her lessons to what my daughters interests are and pushes her into new territory. She is kind, professional, creative and is an incredible teacher. She focuses on technical and artistic aspects of voice working on music theory, technique and performance. My daughter always looks forward to seeing Laura- she is a gift to our family!

    Frequently asked questions

The music that speaks to you is an important part of how we approach your journey. If you come with a strong sense of what you love, we will incorporate that. If you do not yet know what kind of music speaks to you, we will try everything and eventually find out!

I have a Bachelor of Music degree, a Master of Music and Musicology, and a Diplôme d'études musicales (a French conservatory performance diploma).
Lessons are year round with flexible timing during the summer months.

    Monthly tuition:

Tuition is due by the first lesson of the month by Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, Square, check, or cash. This is what reserves your time slot.

My music teachers were the most important positive voices in my life during my teen years. I have always wanted to be what they were to me.

I have worked with ages 5 to 75, with kids, youth, and adults with ADD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety issues, cerebral palsy, selective mutism, substance abuse challenges, and those recovering from strokes. I have worked with professional teachers, mediators, and bank managers, as well as with college-degree-seeking music students, middle- and high-schoolers, and gifted children.

It's ok to try several teachers to see who clicks, especially for children. They can't always articulate what they feel or why, but it still matters.
Building musical instrument skills is a long-term, a-little-each-day process. Do you have the capacity to make 10-15 minutes a day (or help your child do that)? Do you have the ability to schedule and attend lessons regularly for months at a time? These are essential ingredients.
