About
"The total person sings not just the vocal cords" - Esther Broner.
I teach many styles of singing, including lyric singing, musical theater, jazz and pop. But, I personalize my lessons to fit the individual, because not everyone learns the same way, nor are they singing at the same skill level.
I approach the student in a holistic way. Not merely technique, but I teach them how to care for their instruments, how to optimize good health, physically and artistically and how to enrich themselves as artists.
I love to teach and what excites me most is watching my students flourish and discover their voices with new skills and understanding.
My goal is to teach them to eventually teach themselves, to know their instruments. We learn through effective warm-ups, targeted technical exercises and suitable repertoire. I teach my students how to practice, learn a song, audition and how to take care of their instrument and the self for optimum freedom of expression. I enjoy seeing them incorporate these habits into their daily routines.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start each new student with a consultation to learn why they are taking lessons and what they hope to achieve. It could be anything from simple enjoyment, preparing for auditions, or they are interested in pursuing a career in singing.
I also want to tell them something about myself and what a typical lesson looks like. We set expectations and goals during that first session.
I email them a packet of information which includes warm up exercises and some anatomy and techniques - all of which fit their skill levels.
We have Q&A and if there is time, we begin a warm up.
