Ultimate Martial Arts Karate and Jiu Jitsu Academy has been in the Twin Cities for over 25 years. We provide martial arts services to children starting at 3 years of age through adulthood. We are open Monday through Saturday with flexible scheduling for all belt levels. Our self defense based program focuses on the physical fitness benefits of martial arts such as balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Our students gain self confidence, improved listening skills, and discipline through our program. Mr. Riser (our head instructor) is a forth degree black belt and has been training in martial arts since he was 16 years old. Stop in and try out one of our classes. Mention lessons.com and get (8) classes plus a karate gi for 19.95.

We enjoy meeting new people and watching them progress through martial arts and life. We feel we have a family atmosphere here at Ultimate Martial Arts and consider all our students family members. We watch kids and young adults gain confidence and self-discipline through our program. Adults also gain confidence through the fitness aspect of our program.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Our new students will start in a white belt only class.  They will learn how to basic defensive moves, kicks, stances, and strikes. These may be different movments for their bodys so we will work on technique and form with the students.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our head instructor (Mr. Riser) is a forth degree black belt who has been studying martial arts since he was 16 years old. He is also a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. He is well rounded as he studies kick boxing as well as boxing.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Try out of classes for $19.95. This will get you (8) classes and a karate gi.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Check the class schedule to make sure it will meet your needs. Does the martial arts school offer classes on multiple nights at different times that work with your schedule. The most important thing to look at is the head instructor. Make sure you like him or her and are comfortable with them. You will be spending a lot of time with this instructor and if you’re not comfortable with them if will not be an enjoyable experience.
