About
Palmetto Dance’s mission is to grow the love of dancing in the York County and surrounding areas. It is our priority to meet the needs of each dancer. Our classes are designed based on age and skill level to create an environment that is supportive and builds on student knowledge and growth. PDP offers classes for ages 2 and up through Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap and Hip Hop.
We enjoy watching others learn and grow from us. Dance is more than dancing. We teach life long skills!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It really depends on the class. Typically, I get to know my students and work to create a personal and enjoyable experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in K-12 Dance Education and a Master's in K-12 Multi-Categorical Special Education. I am a SC certified teacher. My staff consist of a teachers who were competitive dancers and a SC Governors School graduate for dance who are public school teachers, and marketing specialist.

Pricing depends on class/ lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in high school working for an after school program. I have beem teaching ever since.
I am also a public school special education teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages from ages 2- 60 teaching various dance forms.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love watching children grow! I have worked with a particular dancer since she was 2. When she started, she had horrible stage fright. Over the last 5 years I have watched her blossom into a beautiful little dancer with the best stage personality.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a studio that meets the needs of you and your family. Be comfortable with the whole staff and enviroment.
