About
I am a 2x Olympian and finalist (2012 & 2016) and European gold medalist. I also have several individual NCAA titles and National records on my name (2016). I am in practice for my third Olympics, 2020 in Japan.
As a coach, starting back in 2012 I have had 4 years of experience, and start given various clinics to clubs, 1-on-1 lessons to persons of various ages and levels, and have worked as an assistant coach to two local swimming club in the Netherlands (HZPC & SG Noord-Limburg).These two swimming clubs held groups of around 25 swimmers of ages between 8 and 16. I have also done various 1-on-1 lessons where the ages varied from 4 to 65 years. I work with any age group to become comfortable in the water, improve their technique or help them practice for an upcoming event they are inspired to do. As of now I am not coaching any club, but only offer private lessons since I am focused on my sporting career & finishing college.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the level and needs of the client I work towards feeling safe/comfortable in the water, stroke improvement, training for an event and strive towards making improvement every single lesson I teach. My sessions are based on the clients their needs and wants, but I lay a heavy emphasis on having fun along with dedication and (hard) work. I provide individual expertise and knowledge of my sporting career into the lessons I provide.
I offer a variety of options to my clients containing of typically 30, 60 or 90 minute practices, but based on their needs I can deviate from this base model. I am available on Tuesday through Sundays, mostly afternoons and evening. The first session is always a meet and greet, talking about goals and type of coaching needed/preferred, followed up by a short swim practice to see the level of swimming the client has mastered. From there on I often make goals with the client on scheduling upcoming lessons each week and create a program that is needed to complete the clients' goals. I offer these swimming lessons at the pool at Queens University of Charlotte, but can also drive to the client preferred pool if needed.
