Bach said: "It is the special province of music to move the heart." At the Heart and Soul Music Studio I believe that as you learn to make music, your heart will be lifted and your mind quieted. Try it for a month!
Gina opened a private studio in her home in 2018 teaching piano for beginners. Since then, several children and adults have successfully learned to play and enjoy the piano.
Gina Krause Hayek earned a degree in choral music education with a major in voice from Michigan State University. She spent 27 years teaching music in Durham, Greensboro and the Wake County Public School System, achieving National Board certification in 2003. Gina also holds Orff certification in level I, a system of teaching music that incorporates stories, poems, songs, movement and percussion instruments to help children create their own music.
Gina has performed on stages across the US and abroad, as well as performing solo in weddings and Memorial services. Gina added voice to her studio in 2021.
Gina currently works as the Children’s music director at Rolesville Baptist church.

I love helping students find their voice by releasing any stress or negative judgements they have about themselves. I work with the style that the student wants to study, helping them to find their own best voice and perhaps in the process, encouraging them to study other styles as well. The voice is such a personal instrument that when a person sings, it releases endorphins that produce feelings of well-being. Come and study, and learn to love your voice!!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to determine the musical level of the student and their goals. I endeavor to improve their understanding of music and the technique necessary to attain their goals. I work on freedom and relaxation in order to allow the instrument to sing optimally!! I find out which songs will help us achieve the student's goals and we have fun singing! As much as possible, I like to offer as many different ways of learning as possible so that the student has a greater chance of success in learning and retaining information.
