About this pro

I started stidying karate when I was 15 and fell in love with the arts; I developed my teaching skills when I founded a martial arts club in college. After co-running a dojo with a partner for 7 years in Nutley, I went out and opened the Asian Arts Center in 1998 in West Orange. Today, the dojo is located in Caldwell.

I hold a 7th degree in Goju-ryu karate, am the U.S. Branch Director for the Goju-ryu International Karate Kobudo Federation from Okinawa.

I feel like I have another home at the Asian Arts Center. For the past several years, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with a consistent and dedicated group of martial arts students. Sensei Tran sets the tone for our advanced class by offering a rigorous program that's always delivered in a relaxed and rewarding atmosphere. His lifetime of karate and teaching expertise shows in his patience and passion for inspiring others to reach their potential.

This is the best school to learn traditional martial arts and in particular karate in Essex County New Jersey. Established in 1988 the Asian Arts Center offers wonderful programs for kids, teenagers and adults. All classes are taught by Sensei Tran. New students are welcome to attend a FREE class!
