About

My Teaching Philosophy

1. Lifelong journey: The study of singing is a continuous process that evolves as we mature and develop our talent. I believe in supporting students on their individual paths and fostering their growth over time.

2. Maximizing potential: As a teacher, my role is to recognize and nurture the unique gifts each student possesses. By leveraging their inherent abilities, I strive to help them reach their fullest potential.

Breath as the source: I believe that the breath is the ultimate foundation of our vocal sound. It serves as the wellspring of our expression and requires intentional physical adjustments to facilitate its free flow.

3. Honoring tradition: I embrace a sound production rooted in the techniques employed by great singers of the past. Drawing inspiration from established vocal traditions, I guide students toward a refined and authentic vocal approach.

4. Natural registers: The voice possesses defined registers that are influenced by factors such as voice type, vowels, dynamics, and artistic choices. I emphasize the understanding and utilization of these registers as a means to achieve vocal versatility.

Vowel modification and placement: To ensure a seamless transition between registers, I emphasize the importance of vowel modification and placement. These techniques promote consistency and continuity throughout the vocal range.

5. Sensitivity and respect: Singing is a vulnerable art form, and I approach teaching with the utmost sensitivity and respect for the individual's emotional well-being. I believe in building upon a student's existing strengths rather than dismantling their technique.

6. Encouragement and upliftment: I strongly believe that it is our collective responsibility as humans to support and uplift one another. In my teaching practice, I strive to foster a nurturing environment that encourages growth, both artistically and personally, while promoting a culture of mutual support.
