About
I'm a voice teacher trained in classical technique and specialize in teaching a range of music genres including classical, music theater, and pop to students of all ages. I tailor the lesson to each student's needs and goals, advocating healthy and effective use of the voice and developing artistic expression and confidence in performing arts. Lessons would normally consist of 30 minutes of technique work/ vocal exercises and 30 minutes of application via song work.
I maintain an active performing career alongside my teaching. My credits include performing as Princess Tuptim in the Broadway national and international tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I and working with various theatre and opera companies around the world. I enjoy helping students to find their voice and to reach their goals. As a teacher, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing your student do well and achieve great things with voice and music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know new students by finding out what their background is in singing (how long they've been singing or taking lessons, performing experiences, etc...) and then asking them what their goals are. Then I usually have them sing a song so that I can hear where the student is at and what his or her strengths and weaknesses are. With those things in mind, I craft and tailor a lesson plan for each student, centering on breathing and vocal exercises that facilitates healthy and efficient use of the voice and application of technique through song work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a masters degree in vocal performance.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started into teaching while touring with the Broadway musical, The King and I. One of our tour stops was Baltimore, MD and I was asked to give a vocal masterclass to a group of students in middle school. The entire experience of teaching and helping students was really fulfilling and it inspired me to start my own teaching practice.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all ages, ranging from complete beginner to advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get a trial lesson with a teacher to get a feel of how the teacher works and what his or her teaching philosophy is.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I'd suggest asking questions that you'd like to know about how the voice works. Also get the teacher's assessment of where you are at vocally and find out what aspect of your voice needs to be worked on
