About
Actors at all levels train and learn in perpetuety. If you don't know that last word, no big deal, but look it up and try it out until you're familiar enough to use it comfortably, like it's your own. There ya go - an acting tip.
A good actor pays attention to everything around them, constantly taking things in. Constantly learning. If you are ready to explore, have fun, and face your fears - I'm here to guide you.
I focus on:
warming up, vocal support, body support, scene study, script analysis, developing character, keeping your character alive, playing strong objectives, trying different tactics, and theater games
I am 33 years old, with a BFA in Acting from Montclair State's School of the Arts. I have also trained at the NY Conservatory for Damatic Arts and currently am a resident student at HB Studios. I'm a working actor in film and theater. I'm also a comedian, so I guarantee your student will laugh. I work as a theater and film teaching artist at Two River Theater and LEAP NYC for age 7-18. I provide private lessons for children and adults throughout NJ and NY.
Bonuses:
-I have experience teaching classes and private lessons in competetive NYC for over 8 years now
-I can provide authentic training in acting for the camera because I have a camera and production capabilities. Acting for the camera lessons cost more, but would allow me to teach specific techniques for the film and tv. Plus I can provide you with videos and headshots if you need.
-I rock with kids
What else can I offer:
-movement and warm-up technique
-voice work (have a east coast accent? Me too. Use it when necessary, but know how to ditch it.)
-experience with improv and comedy
The joy of seeing someone break through.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First session should only be 30 minutes - unless we're prepping for an audition and have at least two pieces to work on. We'll talk about your goals, your experience and what you're looking to focus on. If you have no idea, no worries, I'll help guide you. Then we'll come up with the details from there.
If you have anything prepared or a monologue you're interested in, bring it. If not, after you express interest in a class with me and we correspond, I'll try to pull something for you (though typically, anyone 16+ should find their own work after the first day).
We'll read this monologue or scene aloud and access where we're at. No matter what, you will leave with some tips and pointers after our first meeting.
