Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start off by chatting about your musical interests and goals. We also talk about any training, if you've had any. Also, I get to hear you sing a song of your choice with a track just so I can become more familiar with your vocal capabilities. Then we map out potential plans for us to move forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
2003-2006 Academy of the Performing Arts
2006-2010 Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts

2010-2014 Berklee College of Music, BFA in Professional Music
How did you get started teaching?
I finally started teaching about 4 years after I graduated college because many people had asked. I've always wanted to teach but always figured it would be in some type of institution and eventually creating my own. But being in the digital age especially with Instagram and Facebook, I decided to start building from there. Virtual lessons were always a possiblity but became a reality especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and have proven to be very effective.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students as young as 7 years old all the way to a few adults in their 50's.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the person who is teaching you is qualified to teach you - not only in degrees, but in experience!
