Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All new students start with a FREE trial program consisting of an orientation and a private class with our head instructor. This way you can experience our program first hand.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
SUPERIOR INSTRUCTION
Hand-picked by Master Tiger Schulmann himself, every candidate must complete years of rigorous training prior to becoming a certified head instructor or Sensei. To preserve the schools’ high ideals, every instructors must continually train each week to stay current on the latest and most effective self-defense techniques, instructional methods, nutritional and exercise-physiology regimes.
We expect the utmost quality from our instructors, and in turn, you can expect unparalleled Martial Arts instruction.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our head instructor, Sensei Andrew Katz has been teaching at Tiger Schulmann's for 20 years and has taught students from 4 years old all the way to students in their seventies. He has worked with students with different disabilities and at risk teens.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a school, a prospective student should consider the experience of the instructor and the level of commitment the instructor gives his students. At Tiger Schumann's, the head instructor of the school is also the owner. Most schools hire instructors that are employees and won't give the same commitment to a students success.
