I work with beginners to advanced. I work with students Who are already auditioning and booking As well as children who are just starting out. I have been a student of Wendy Hammer for just a little over a year now. From the start I knew she was a great acting coach not only because of her experience, but because of how passionate she is about teaching her students. She strives to make sure that I can become the best actress I can be. Wendy has gone above and beyond to make sure that I am prepared for any role and is honest when there needs to be improvement. She teaches me very important techniques that would have taken me years to learn due to her abundance of experience with different roles she has played. She has proved me time after time that there is no better acting coach to lead me to where I want to be by giving me the confidence to audition for roles I would have never thought of auditioning for.

Wendy has been coaching my 5 year old daughter for almost a year now, and she is very adept and patient with young children. My daughter has become so much more focused and confident in her acting as a result. She has learned commercial spots, improv, singing songs and short monologues. I highly recommend Wendy for coaching young children because she is able to communicate with them in a way that is fun, engaging and appropriate for their age.

We live in the country, and have had trouble finding a coach who is willing to work with kids and who is within a reasonable driving distance. Wendy really connects with my kids, and is able to explain different concepts at their level, all through Skype. She has been working with them on monologue skills, character development, improv, and audition skills. I saw an immediate difference in how they approached their next audition

I am writing this letter on behalf of Wendy Susan Hammer, who was my son’s acting coach for over five years. We have had the opportunity to work with Wendy in both the classroom setting as well as one-on-one coaching sessions. In the classroom, Wendy was well prepared and made certain all students were engaged in the three hour sessions. One-on-One, Wendy is able to tailor her lessons to meet the need of each specific child. Wendy is a compassionate person who encourages her students to reach their potential.
Speaking from my professional as well as personal experiences, I believe Wendy is a dedicated, responsible, and compassionate individual who is a pleasure to work with.

I had a blast working on my acting skills with Wendy. I learned so much, improved immensely and got a better understanding of how the industry works. I worked with Wendy 8th grade throughout my sophomore year of high school until I moved away. I wish I could have kept going and would recommend her to anyone!!

I am still working with Wendy and she is a fantastic teacher and I really enjoy working with her. She makes the classes fun and exciting to keep you really interested and always wanting to learn more. We do a variety of different things each class so it keeps it interesting. She is even helping me get started in the acting business by finding auditions and different roles in plays to make sure I start on the right track with the right people so I am so thankful for her and everything she has done and I would highly recommend her.

    Frequently asked questions

When I start with a new student-I speak to them or their mom. *if the student is young*. I get to know what level they are at.Why they enjoy acting and what their goals are..If a beginner-we start from the beginning with basic acting exercises and improvisation..if they have experience. We begin from where they are out. Improvisation, Monologue work and possibly scene work and commercial work.

I was trained in theater and that is an excellent way to learn acting. I then transitioned into On camera work and that is what I do now. I took college classes in Theater and then On Camera Classes in NYC with very prestigious teachers in NYC and on Long Island. I continued to take classes and train even though I have been a coach and an acting teacher for 25 plus years...

My basic price is 65.00 per hour in person or skype coaching which works well and is just great if you live farther than I  go. I actually Facetime on my I phone. This is a very good and very reasonable fee. Right now until March 5th-I have a special going on for new students. If you pay upfront for 3 sessions. you Get the 4th one free.

I got started in the early 1980's working with preschool children doing a very successful creative drama program. then I started teaching Grade School and HS students in classes in all venues. Dance Studios, Performing Arts Centers, After School programs, Libraries and more

I have worked with students that pursue it as a hobby and students that pursue it as a professional career. Many of my students are presently or have worked in Commercials, TV, Film and more. I specialize in young children starting at the age of 5-teens. I have a very upbeat, enthusiastic, fun personality that relates well to children of all ages

Makes sure they have reviews and experience. Check out their Website and more. Make Sure the coach/teacher NEVER tells you that your child/you will definitely make it in the industry. It is a very tough business and there are never any guarantees. Even if the coach says your child has the look and the talent. I am realistic and very honest. Lots of my students work in the biz. Don't do it for fame or money

Why do they want to act

    for a hobby or professionally

    why if professionally
