Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I formulate custom lesson plans to every student’s unique experience and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA in Theatre from Northwestern University - one of the top theatrical training institutions in the USA. I have worked as an award-winning professional director for over 15 years. My work has been seen all over the country at major regional theatres as well as internationally. My coaching students have booked roles, regionally, on cruise ships, in national tours and on Broadway.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies depending on the students needs and whether an accompanist is needed or a studio needs to be booked.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2010 when I realized the skills I used as a director could help others in the entertainment industry.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging in ages and experiences. Everyone from the curious hobbyist to working Broadway actors looking to nail the next big audition.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research! Make sure they bring the credits and skills to actually help you achieve your goals. I recommend working with a teacher who is also ACTIVELY working in the industry, not just teaching about it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Are you looking at this as a profession? As a way to build confidence or skills? Just curious about a career as an entertainer? All are great reasons to hire a teacher and clear goals will help me or anyone else formulate the perfect lessons.
