About

I’ve been working as an actor for many, many years and something I’ve found fascinating about the craft of acting is that there is always something to learn and that no matter how much experience you have, you are never finished. In my journey as an actor, I found that in the beginning, not a lot came naturally to me so I really had to work hard to figure out each aspect of my craft and try lots of different techniques and ways in before I could master it. Having worked and trained so much, I found that I now have a large tool box I’ve built up over the years that I have been sharing with my clients in my coaching. I love to be able to approach each actor with a set of tools and vocabulary that will work specifically for them, whether it be text analysis, personalization of choices, physicality, etc.

As we all know, auditioning is HARD! A client came to me with audition material where he was playing a twin conjoined at the head, his brother was choking and he had to call 9-11 while his body was slowly shutting down. TRUE STORY! The first thing he said to me was “what the heck do I do with this?” and after an hour of work together, we came up with quite a great tape that got some exciting, positive feedback!

I like to always provide a safe, encouraging, inspiring (and hopefully fun) environment to work in and I’ve learned and firmly believe that the best work can be done in this kind of environment.

Of course I love to see my actors book work! I've had actors book, get callbacks and great feedback for major TV shows, Broadway, off Broadway, regional theater, films and acceptances into top drama programs. I've also spent years growing my toolbox as an actor and I love being able to share all of those tools with my actors and help them figure it out!

I offer both hour and half hour lessons. My rates are $40/half hour and $75/hour.

Training with Amy has been such a great experience. She’s not just an acting coach—she’s supportive, engaging, and really knows how to bring out the best in you. Every session is fun and full of insight. She meets you where you are, but still pushes you to grow and improve. Since working with her, I’ve seen a big difference in both my confidence and my skills. I’m so glad I get to keep learning from her. Amy is truly an amazing coach, and I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking to grow in their craft.

Working with Amy has been amazing! She has been able to help me not only with my auditions but to grow and be confident as an actor. My first audition with her I was nervous and not as confident, but all that changed with the first class I had with her. Every new material we work on now is fun and interesting to see where the direction goes. I’m just grateful for the great auditions and reels we have made.

Amy has been an incredible teacher and a huge help to me! I started off very nervous and shy, but she’s super welcoming, encouraging, and kind! She has really broken me out of my shell and pushed me to be great! She is incredibly encouraging and truly wants us to succeed! She’s given me countless tips and exercises that have elevated me as an actor! As artists, we need great teachers that can see just how great we can be and help guide us to our full potential and Amy is 100% that person!

Amy is a fabulous acting coach! When we work together, she really helps me find moments in the text to help me bring the character to life. Not only has she worked with me, she also coached my 8-year-old and helped her prepare for her first (successful!) self tape. Thanks to her work with Amy, she felt super prepared when she got to set. Amy is great at teaching people of all ages and skill levels. I recommend her without reservation!

    Frequently asked questions

I work with students of all different skill and experience levels so it depends! With a student who is newer to acting, typically I'll start with an exercise to teach some basic principals of scene study and see what their natural strengths. After I've gotten to know them a bit through the exercise, I will then start work on a scene (which either I can choose or they can choose!). From there, I tailor my lessons to the students goals with scene work and some technique exercises based on what they need! With a student who has some experience and is looking to brush up and improve, we'll jump right into scene and monologue work and go from there! For students looking for audition coaching, we'll chat a bit, get to know each other and jump into the scene!
I have a degree in Acting from Boston University as well as a Classical Acting Certificate from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts as well as years of on camera training in Los Angeles.

All kinds! I work with clients who have appeared on Broadway, in major TV shows and feature films as well as students who are brand new!
I am of course always proud when one of my clients books a job! They've booked TV, film, Broadway, regional theater and been accepted to the top universities! I am also extremely proud when a student has a big breakthrough. Many, many times I've been extremely privileged to see my students able to conquer something that they didn't think they were able to do and do it with ease.
I would advise a student to choose someone who makes you feel confident, supported and that you feel like you're improving with!
