About

Specializing in teaching children ages 2-7 our approach to learning to swim is fun and adapted specifically for your child's needs. We also do swim team prep and distance training for advanced older swimmers. I hold a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification, as well as Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. I also am privately insured.

I love working with children. They brighten my day so much and I feel like I am making a difference in their lives when I teach them to swim. Swimming is such a valuable life skill that I think every child should learn to do.

My middle school daughter needed her fly stroke technique fine tuned for tryouts. After four lessons, her time decreased and she made the team!

Eileen really likes kids and they like her. Eileen was able to motivate my son, who was at first was unwilling to get in the pool and later when in the pool was unwilling to do anything other than hang on the side. My son continued this behavior a few more times and each time she motivated him. He now can swim a lap and looks forward to his lesson.

Eileen comes to meet my son in our building at our pool each week. She is terrific with him and is very good at adjusting the lessons to his level and ability. He is no longer afraid of the water and loves the toys that Eileen brings each week. He is already learning his first stroke after only a few months of lessons.

My daughter has been swimming with Eileen for the past two years. She was a total beginner and somewhat afraid of the water, but it only took one lesson for her to enjoy her time one on one with Eileen in the pool. She is only six years old now and already has a good basis for 3 of her 4 strokes. She is looking forward to starting swim team this Fall. Highly recommend Eileen, as she really takes the time to work with her students.

    Frequently asked questions

I speak to the parent on the specific needs of the child and swimming level. During the first lesson it's mostly about getting the child comfortable with me and focusing on the basics so I can better determine their level. From there I devise a lesson plan specific to the swimmer. Every class ends with 3-5 min of fun time, for the younger ones I bring floating toys to play with in the water, and older ones will do jumps, play a game, or dive for sinking toys.
