About this pro

I personally shop with my clients, this is personally included.  A lot of people just ask for a dish or a cuisine they want to cook and simply teach them to make simple items. I’m here to teach and help you on a bigger scale and build a close relationship with you. I’m young but have devoted myself to this career. Depending on your own willingness to learn, this can be a very fun experience !

Everything. I love teaching individuals who are new to the kitchen and love understanding cooking for what it truly is.

I’ve taken many lessons before with other Chefs, but Chef Erik makes cooking a lot more fun. He was able to teach my a new dish and create new flavors that were versatile in my everyday dishes. Furthermore, he’s funny and easygoing which made it a lot of fun. Highly recommend!!!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Love getting to know them and their interest first. Students learning to cook need to be transparent about their strengths and weakness in order to have a successful lesson. I prefer to shop with the customer for ingredients to help them understand a certain cuisine that they are trying to recreate or learn.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Cooking for 8years. Started off as a prep cook and worked my way up in the industry. My mentors range from commissary prep cooks to  line cooks to banquet chefs to Michelin starred chefs. I’m currently working with a former CIA teacher who’s pursing his career in catering.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I don’t have standard pricing for my lessons. I believe every lesson should be discussed before hand to establish a set rate. Knowledge and skill will vary a lot. I wouldn’t want to over charge a student who’s learning basic cooking

How did you get started teaching?

I’ve learned from chefs that I’ve cooked with but also taught them something new even tho they’ve been in the food industry longer than I have. the execution of food will vary based on each chef since everyone’s cooking experience are different.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I believe students should be open to all options given to them thru lessons.com. Someone like myself could have 8 years of cooking experience but lacks the ability to teach an individual. Similar to any new talent learned, it takes time, practice and dedication to become good at it.
