About
I have been a drummer my whole life. A recent graduate from The New School's prestigious Jazz Performance program, I have over 12 years of proffessional experience performing and recording as both a drummer and percussionist in Northern California and New York, as well as on tours in other parts of the country and the world. While still in high school, I started leading rehearsals for younger students and teaching private students outside of school, and have continued teaching in person and remotely since then.
I love playing and teaching in a wide range of musical styles including Jazz, Rock, Pop, Latin and Folk, and have a passion for drawing out and cultivating that unconditional love of music in young people. I know from experience that learning from someone who is a skillful teacher, not just a gifted musician, makes all the difference in the world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first assess where they are at skill-wise and what they want to learn, and then we dive in. Sometimes they have specific questions or a certain style they want to explore, and sometimes we just start with the basics and work from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional performing and recording musician since I was in high school, and graduated with honors from one of the top Music Performance undergraduate programs in the country. I have played multiple venues in 6 different states and have been teaching private drums and percussion students for over 5 years.
