About
My name is Bobby Daniel Rodriguez. I am a lifetime member of The Actors Studio (www.theactorsstudio.org) where the art of acting was redefined using the principles of Stanislavsky's "system" and where the modern "method" was born. I will teach you the basic techniques that will foster the foundation for finding your truth and exploring the depths required in this work. For three years I trained under the tutelage of the late acting guru Elizabeth Kemp(Coach for Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman and many more). My work can be seen in shows like When They See Us, Seal Team (Season 2), and the movie Bel Canto opposite Julianne Moore. For more info on me go to www.imdb.me/bobbydanielrodriguez
My work is my passion and I love every aspect of its exploration of the human spirit. Not many people get to say that they do what they love for a living. I'm blessed in that respect. Teaching, for me, is a way of paying the gifts I've been given forward to those seeking to learn more about themselves, challenging the way they look at the world, and exploring what it means to be human.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching after my peers began continually asking for my help. In my relatively young career I've had some considerable success and I feel its my duty to pay it forward with the knowledge and experience I've gained.
What types of students have you worked with?
I won't qualify anyone I work with as a student. They are my peers. The artists I've work with ranged from beginner to experienced working actors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my peers who has had difficulty cracking the puzzle of auditioning on camera came to me one day for assistance. He had a big audition coming up so I had him come to me with what he was going to bring into the audition room. After watching what he brought I worked with him on a couple of things I learned would make his audition stand out. He came out of his audition and texted me right away about how much different and confident he felt, thanking me profusely. This to me was an amazing feeling. I love actors and I love helping them!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research. Make sure the tools that a teacher offers you are what you are looking for. Not every teacher is a good fit for you. Ask questions.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my strengths? Weaknesses? What makes me lose confidence or concentration? What are my goals as an artist? How close or far am I from reaching those goals?
