I have been a stage director/acting coach in Manhattan since the late 1970's, where I am a member of the writers/directors Unit of the Actor's Studio. I have been the resident director of two OOB theatres and have been the Artistic Director of my own company, The Classical Ensemble Theater as well. The one quality I have as a teacher that distinguishes me most favorably is this; I design my approach specifically to the particular person I am working with. I get to know the student as a person and work to enable him to steadily move forward in his journey to becoming the kind of actor that reflects his/her particular gifts.

I love everything about acting-which I have been involved in since childhood- and I love to teach, so combining the two is a great source of satisfaction to me. Acting involves the whole person, his/her intellect, emotions and physical life, yet done properly, acting is simple, and the role of the teacher is to guide the student to understand the basic simplicity of good acting. My acting instruction is personal methodical and enjoyable. Through good acting instruction, the student will grow in the understanding of both the work and of himself, and it is a gift to be able to be a part of this process of self-enrichment and the acquisition of skills.
