About this pro

With many years' experience as an acting coach working with young adults, children (ages 10-14) and adults, I am keen on hearing from you, regarding your specific needs as an actor.

I am specifically attentive to the needs of older actors who are returning to the profession after years of hiatus or maybe trying to break in after retirement or family obligations.

Another focus of my classes is on public speech and presentation for business clients who need to hone their public speaking skills or work on a specific presentation.

Having trained in many different schools and workshops in Europe (Theatre du Soleil, Peter Brook - Yoshi Oyda, etc.) in the US (Strasberg - method, and Amercian Academy, UCLA Extension), and in the UK (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Complicity Theatre) in addition to my vast experience as an award-winning stage and screen/TV actress, I feel I am in a perfect position, at this stage in my career, to coach and teach acting.

I have won a number of awards in my career as a stage and a screen actor and have received some extraordinary reviews for my work. This is a huge satisfaction, and I feel it is my duty to relay my knowledge and talent to others who seek to develop in this field.

Hopefully, I can answer all your questions and help you grow as an actor, or a speaker, while we concentrate together on your individuality and specific needs.

I love working with people and seeing the fruit of our collaborative labor take shape.

I am very result oriented and will press for tangible results in my classes. This is a challenge I truly enjoy.

Please check my Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/noraarmani) and LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/noraarmani/) profiles to learn more about me. And visit my personal website at: www.noraarmani.net

And stay connected. If not now, then maybe in the future.

And remember, you are unique, you have a gift and can share it with others, rendering the world a better place for all.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Customized - personalized - answering the student's particular requirements and needs.

There is no ONE typical way in which I work. Each student is an individual, different from any other individual and THAT is what will make him/her/they succeed as an actor.

That is what I concentrate on!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have minored in Theatre at the American University in Cairo, and have been acting since I was 15. My major is Sociology.

I also hold a Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of London LSE. I have continuously acted since I started.

My formal acting training includes fine acting schools such as UCLA and RADA, in addition to an international array of the best workshops, including Theatre du Soleil, Complicity Theatre, Peter Brook, Grotowski (Elizabeth Albahaca), Movement (Monic Pagneux) just to name a few. More details are found on my personal website: www.noraarmani.net

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

For younger students, I offer an introductory rate of $75 and will continue on that rate of the classed become regular and continuous.

The regular hourly rate is $120 for one offs.

I also offer the lower rate of $75 to adults for a series of 10 classes purchased in advance.

For specific pricing and special promotionss, please check back.

How did you get started teaching?

I have been teaching since I was in college.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have taught youngsters, children, adults, and older students. I have experience in all age ranges and training levels.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I students of mine, who I had taught at school came up to me after a performance of my one woman show ' On the Couch with Nora Armani' wearing a T-Shirt that said 'I heart Theatre'. I did not recognize her of course, as she had bloomed into a fine young lady, and I had taught her at grade school.

She reminded me of my lesson with her class, and said she is now in drama school, pursuing an acting career, because of me!

That really made my day.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

It is very important to have your personal needs and individuality nurtured and developed. DO NOT settle for acting classes that bunch you up with everyone else, and apply the same exercises and techniques to everyone!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

There are no particular questions.

All questions are legitimate and should come from the person's real concerns and needs.
