Our body is our Art. I think that’s the most important thing I’d like to stress about the difference between dancing with Talara and the rest of the world, is that she really lets her students learn and experience through art. So many studios focus heavily on technique, it’s easy to watch children burn out and lose interest. Talara has a magical, captivating way of letting students learn through art and feeling (while still including technique of course). She accepts and ellicitis their creative journeys in a way that allows them to grow beyond the depths of other studios. Understanding art and why we do it, is what helps us grow as humans. That’s the part Talara is so great at teaching, no matter what your age may be. I see the two year olds completely stimulated and excited to be there, and the younger children mature faster than normal with their deeper understanding of the world. I see the pre-teens and teens thrive and blossom in the world of arts, as they adjust and learn to express themselves through movement, and I see the adults connect to something they’ve forgotten, something that makes them young again. I myself have been dancing with Talara since I was a child. I still take class and perform with her, and would likely follow her to the ends of the earth, for all the reasons listed above. If you are looking for a different type of dance studio, that is truly about connecting to art and to yourself, then you and/or your children should be dancing with Talara Ruth.

As a parent with a professional performance background, it was important for me to find a dance studio where my daughter would enjoy studying technique and appreciate the musicality and artistry of dance. Talara, the artistic director, understands and listens to each childs needs and has developed an inclusive studio that embraces all students at any level. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of dance is so impressive and her students feel very comfortable in class knowing that it is non judgmental space to explore movement. My daughter has blossomed as dancer and we owe it all to Talara at Cats Dance.!

Talara is an AMAZING teacher and artist. She has such a pure love and appreciation for dance that bubbles over so she cant help but spread it to her students. I had the wonderful experience of dancing with her both as a child and now as an adult and leave every class feeling energized and more in love with dance, even to this day. She has a knack for helping you reach your dance goals whatever they may be. I was able to work with her and, through her guidance, was able to get into the dance schools/summer programs I wanted (school of the arts, Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet, and the dance program at University of California, Irvine, etc.). She is dedicated to her students and works with them to get them dancing at incredible levels. I highly recommend.

Ms. T understands that there is one child and one child only that gets the attention they do richly deserve. It is always your child! She is the best friend, teacher, mentor and example of human kindness you could ever hope your child is privy to. We are lucky beyond belief to have her influence, instruction and love touch our daughters life so profoundly! Sounds like too much, but truly how I feel.

It takes a village, and that village is Ms. T.
