About
I offer my students a unique masterclass that focuses on how to be actively creative in the studio. We will be exploring what it's like to work with choreographers and how you can best prepare for your professional career as a dancer/improve your skills as a professional dancer.
Through guided tasks we will then research what the dancer's unique movement quality is and how we can generate authentic movement by tapping into our childlike creative brain.
This masterclass is suitable for pre professionals and professionals and will be tailored to suit the individual’s needs.
For the past six years I have been dancing with Nederlands Dans Theater, working with the most world renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Hans van Manen, Marco Goecke, Crystal Pite, Alexander Ekman and many more.
My passion lies in the artistry of dance and how each individual dancer can offer something incredibly unique and breath taking. I hope to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years with my students to encourage them to be more than just executors of someone else’s work but to be an active aspect of each new creation.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe it is important to get to know each other first before diving into the work. Based on what you are looking to get out of this masterclass we will then begin to go through some guided tasks. Please wear comfortable clothes and be in a space where you can move freely:)
Based on our findings of the guided tasks we will then start to create short exerpts of choreograhpy. This way, you can use the tools you have just gained and immediately put them to the test in a non pressure environment.
We will always end the class with an open dialogue and review what we have learnt during the class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I come from a classical Ballet background, from the age of 11 I started trainig at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague and graduated there with a Bachelor's degree in dance. I also spent one year trainnig at the Kirov Academy in Washington DC.
At 19 I got my first job with Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) and have worked there ever since. There I have been lucky enough to work with the most amazing choreographers, collegues and teachers.
My love for teaching and sharing knowledge is ever growing and it has been a pleasure to meet new dancers in person and online.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
There is no need to prepare yourself in any way for this class. Just make sure you are wearing comfy clothes and are in a space where you are free to move. I love working with curious dancers so don't hold back with any questions you might have.
