Alexandra Henderson, Voice Teacher
About
Welcome to my page! I have over 10 years of experience singing, and two degrees in Vocal Performance. As a teacher, I believe that a strong foundation of technical singing is the blank canvas with which any singer can explore the vast world of music. In my personal voice studio, I assign individualized repertoire and set goals for each of my students based on their interest and abilities. I can't wait to work with you and discover your voice!

I’ve been with Alexandra about a year this June. I’ve always wanted to have voice lessons and it turns out I got the perfect person for me. She has great energy, and she teaches how to read music, voice exercises, I believe everything that has to do with Singing. I’ve never heard of anyone teaching the way she does. She has great patience, and we have lots of fun and laughter in our session. I’m very blessed to have a teacher like her.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A new student in my studio can expect a free consultation lesson where we discuss your goals, assess your voice, and chat about logistics! Our work together is shaped around your individual needs, which means I get the honor of crafting a specific lesson plan to help you get there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters and Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory and Southern Methodist University!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My studio does monthly scheduling & tuition. I'll explain all the specifics during our consultation!
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching because I wanted to be the teacher I wish I had when I was first starting out.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of nearly every age! I have had students ranging from seven to seventy. I firmly believe that it is never too late to begin your journey discovering your own voice.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently got to sing in San Diego and during my contract, I went whale watching for the first time and saw a blue whale!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'd recommend students take advantage of the free trial lessons! It's a wonderful opportunity to meet a potential teacher and learn a bit about their studio.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Prior to our first consultation, I'd recommend doing a bit of reflecting on what your goals for our singing lessons would be.
