Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In recent years, I have taught in college classrooms, so I'm getting reacclimated to a one-on-one or small-group situation. In this case, the student should choose the focus (e.g., theater, scene study, relaxation/stage fright issues, public speaking), and then we can proceed from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold three university degrees: the first in film and television production from New York University. This also included video and radio training.
My second degree, a master's, also from NYU, is for Dramatic Writing (plays and screenplays), which involved working with actors and directors to get scripts off their feet.
My most recent degree, a second master's, from the University of Northern Colorado, is in Theater Education. This comprised courses in how to teach theater (acting, directing, movement) and included directing a production as part of my thesis.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will charge less if the student can come to me or a bit less if we can meet in a midtown NYC rehearsal space.
