I have been playing flamenco guitar for over 40 years and know all the aspects of flamenco dance and flamenco cante accompaniment. When I arrived in NYC in 1974, it was to pursue a jazz guitar career. I did this for 6-7 years, including switching instruments to bass in order to work more often. I also played with many Salsa bands during the late 1970s. I came back to guitar and flamenco style a few years after my wife, dancer Aurora Reyes, had gotten into flamenco and studied in Spain on her own.
