I Am New To St Pete fron NYC. I love it here and have come to live a better life with my wife Ilena. I teach Drum Set , Hand Percussion, Vocals , And Songwriting.
My main goal is to have enough students to teach full time. I am not there yet but see that goal being realized in the next few months.
They say do what you love and I love to teach. I've been doing it as well as gigging and lets not forget that a great teacher never stops learning. Even at this point in my life I realize how much there is to know . Weather it be in Jazz or a great new Metal drummer with incredible technique
What style do you really love ? Can you read music ? Do you want to Or , is learning the right technique so you can start to play with others in a band situation more of what you really want?
I am here to help you realize whatever goals you have , no matter what style or genre and however far you really want to take this.
I have the tools and experience to help take you there and will do my best to help you realize those goals but , remember it is ultimately up to you . I can just tell you I will support you on that journey to the very best of my ability.
I love to share music with others and I love to see when students realize that they can take drumming especially as far as they want to. There is so much to share and understand . Music is an entire language and world. For me one of the strongest ways to share that world is through the dtrum set or hand drum such as Congas or Djembe . I teach hand drums ,vocals and other instruments as well. we can talk about those things as well when you are ready.
I have performed and taught all over the world , been on over 25 records , had my music and drumming appear on NYC,Californian,and European Televisoin & Radio and recieved accolades from a few different studios, schools and played and/or recorded with Grammy Award Winning Artists and some of the best in the business

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get to know where they are at physically and where there abilities are strongest and start from there. Its got to be fun too . If you have fun while learning I believe you will learn more and stay with it. I've had students for as long as 5 years

45 minutes for $45 or 1 hour for $60 Is generally the way I roll 🎶😊- If I am traveling more than 25 min by car - that may need to be discussed
If you have financial isuues I am willing to discuss how we can make it work for both parties - I just want to get you playong
How did you get started teaching?
There is an International School Of Prague in Czech Republic
I was hired to teach drum rudiments to after school band kids
That then led to a few private students and just blossomed from there

To - Absolute beginners ! There is always something I can teach and there is always something I can learn from each student!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of so many events I was part of. One of remeberence was when I played at a festival in NY and got to play with Tito Puente Jr -it was a big honor for me to play with the son of The Master Tito Puente!
I have recently been performing at clubs like The Floridian in St Petersburg Fla and The East End Tap House In Gulfport where I now have a monthly residency as The Band Leader! .
Humbling as well .
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire someone who can help you grow at your own pace but still inspire you to go further - Lee
