Flam 7 Percussion
About
Flam 7 Percussion was a brand I created this year to provide equipment, advice, and world-class education to individuals & programs nationwide. I bring over 20 years of expertise in multiple percussion fields, including marching/rudimental, studio & session drumming, touring, local cover gigs, and more!
I am a Cincinnati native, and now have a physical location on the west side of town. I am looking to get back into private instruction, and can help you reach your goals no matter what level you're at!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When meeting a new student for the first time, I always like to establish their goals, as well as gauge where they're currently at. Everyone's journey is different, and it's just as important for an instructor to have goals for each student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been drumming since 1999, including high school marching band, Drum Corps, several national tours with various bands, over 500 hours in the studio recording/producing, and I am now the sole owner of a percussion supply and education business.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I currently charge $35/hour, or $20/half hour. I am available 7 days a week, and have flexible scheduling around my normal weekday office hours.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was in high school, I was recognized for my ability to learn quickly, and my leadership qualities. I had several students approach me and request instruction outside of school, and it snowballed from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a lot of beginners, as well as intermediate drummers who are looking to audition for their favorite drum corps wanting to get their chops up to the next level.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research! Make sure you are not only hiring a qualified instructor, but one with a personality that fits your learning style as well.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Make sure you know what you want to accomplish! Setting off on a journey without having a map can be fun, but in this context it'll just mean wasted time and wasted money, as your end goals are imperative for establishing appropriate curriculums.
