I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from James Madison University and am the Founder, Director and Teacher of Private Piano at Great Lakes School of Music.

I served on the faculty at The Cleveland Music School Settlement from 1989-1999 in the Performing Arts and Early Childhood Departments, as well as the Cleveland Municipal Schools extension program. Aside from teaching, I am an accomplished musician as a composer, arranger, and performer. In 1995, I was awarded the Lentine’s Music award for outstanding leadership in digital keyboard composition, arrangement, and performance.

I led the 1995 OMTA Seminar in Keyboard Technology and chaired the 1997 Music Festival at Judson Manor and 1998 and 1999 Music Festivals at Cleveland State University. I am a member of the National Piano Foundation, OMTA, Steinway Educators Partnership, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers, in which I was placed on the National Honor Roll of Guild Teachers for having successfully prepared my piano pupils for entry in the National Piano Playing Auditions. I was selected for the National Registers Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.

He was extremely attentive and personable and helpful. He gave me needed information about holding the pick and strumming technique. I am happy so far.

Frequently asked questions

I love to get to know the student first, before beginning to teach them music concepts!  I ask each student where they go to school, what types of activities and subjects they enjoy, etc.!  Then, if they're a beginner, I ask them what type of piano they have and the type of music they enjoy listening to!  I introduce them to the piano and give them a brief history, comparing the acoustic piano to a digital piano.  We then begin talking about piano posture, the piano keyboard basics, etc. and I have them play on the black keys initially, up and down the keyboard.  We gradually get into more and more concepts, and I teach the student several "rote" pieces that they can easily learn at the very first lesson!

I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Music from James Madison University and have been teaching students of all ages for 30 years!

Pricing for lessons depends upon what package is chosen, and the pricing options are competitve in the industry!

I have and currently teach students from ages 4 to senior citizen!

Great Lakes Music Fesitival, sponsored by Great Lakes School of Music, is our most recent event which took place on March 17, 2016 at Steinway Piano Gallery in Boston Hts., Ohio.  Students of all music disciplines performed all genres before a panel of 3 adjudicators!
