About
I am drummer with 30 years of experience. I provide a full drum kit education which covers basic rock independence, linear phrasing and applying it to drum beats and fills, syncopation, jazz independence and linear phrasing, odd and semi-odd time signatures, basic music theory, and overview of all styles including Rock, Hard Rock, The Blues Jazz, Country, Jazz Fusion and Progressive Rock -- with a focus on the similarities and differences between these styles.
Teaching a skill that given me so much pleasure over the years, and seeing my students apply these skills.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start Working on basic 4/4 time beats between the hi-hat, snare, and bass drum with 1/4 notes and 1/8th notes. For more advance students I have them work on more syncopated beats between these percussion instruments to gain complete independence between their hands and feet; I will then gain a sense of what direction my students want to head in. Classes are 1 hour time frame, with some extra time, if necessary, to discuss the following weeks curriculum.
