About
Salem Young Singers Club offers private voice lessons and performing opportunities for students of all ages.
Voice Lessons are tailored for the student's specific vocal needs including building strength, range, poise, breath support, clear diction, clear vowel sounds, and overall confidence. Time-proven classical voice concepts are used to address and improve upon all levels, all abilities, and all styles. Private voice lessons give students the opportunity to learn healthy vocal technique in a one-on-one setting. Singers expand their repertoire and learn new songs they are interested in and may want to perform or audition with.
Singing is fun and I love helping my students build confidence in their singing voice. I believe that ANYONE can learn to sing!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson is an opportunity to get to know eachother. New students learn some basic vocal technique and warmups, we pick out a few songs to work on together, and talk about how to practice for the next lesson.
For Young Singers - Children love to sing and I encourage their natural joy and ability by supporting what they already do well. I give them specific guidelines, techniques and scales that are age-appropriate and fun to help them with posture, breath control, voice range, diction, learning about pure vowels, expression, and so much more. I teach them the difference between head voice singing and belting, and I explain the importance to learn both. I teach with the goal in mind that your children will be healthy, productive, and successful singers and performers throughout their lives, regardless of the careers they end up choosing.
For Teens and Adults - Our voices change during adolesence and this is the time to begin more detailed vocal work. Private lessons are crucial for singers who want to learn to sing with proper support and resonance. There are countless approaches and specific techniques to improving range, tone, diction, and overall control. The quality of performance will improve dramatically under the care of good vocal instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sarah Mutinelli graduated Magna cum Laude from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle with a Bachelor of Music degree. She has been teaching singing and beginning piano lessons since 2006.
