About
Hello. My name is Norm DeVol. I have recently relocated from the Bay Area in California where I had a thriving voice studio and am ready to begin teaching here in the Salem area. I enjoy teaching all ages.
My goal is to help students learn to sing their best using techniques to teach them proper breathing, posture, resonance, and how to sing with expression. I use positive feedback and make sure that students enjoy learning new ways to use their voice.
I have been teaching for 35 years and have had many students go on to sing in operas, musical theater, choruses, and do solo work. I was a top recommendation for Ragazzi Boys Chorus in the Bay Area.
I also sang solo roles for many musical organizations in the Bay Area and the Sacramento area and was for many years an Extra Chorus member with San Francisco Opera.
I am easy going and will work with you at your pace.
I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
