About this pro

Gabe Toth's rich and varied musical life began early as a major soloist in a boys choir, and he was playing church organ professionally at age 11. He attended the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts and graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In addition to his classical training in voice, piano, and organ, Gabe plays and teaches both jazz and rock and has added guitar, bass, and drum kit to the array of instruments he plays. He has 35 years of performance experience as a show band pianist, entertainer, vocalist, arranger, and orchestrator in a wide array of settings including touring companies, cruise lines, theatre and colleges.

I get to pass on what was given to me.  The joy and gift of playing music. See

I was not confident in my ability to be disciplined in practice or to grasp the many concepts of learning music. Gabe is so much fun and supportive and it’s easy to feel his encouragement that you are more than capable. I feel very grateful to have him as a teacher.

  • John Edwards

He was extremely knowledgeable, very patient, and he tailored his drum lesson instructions to me based upon my abilities. He also provided valuable online resources to me between instruction lessons.

Over the years I have seen many music instructors with very little success. Then I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with Gabe. It will never be the same. The finest international music instructor in the world. Mark my words! Maximilian from London, England.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Weekly analyzation of how they learn.  I work with them at their level and realize not every student learns and retains material in the same way.  Ive had great progress with this and everyone I work with stays motivated and feels a weekly progression.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All the teachers I have had.  Father was a teacher and Organ major from Temple University.  I grew up in a boy choir that drilled sight singing and the Zoltan Kodaly method into me.  PA Governors School For The Arts 1991.  The Lutheran Summer Music Program 1988, 1989 and Berklee College of Music 1997.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$40 per half hour, $80 per hour

payed monthly $160 for half hour, $300 for full hour

How did you get started teaching?

Straight out of college in 1997 at a guitar store that my father was teaching at.

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages, all styles.  Piano, voice, guitar, bass, drum kit, trumpet, french horn.

I have also worked with special needs students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

The starting of my new website.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Hire someone you will feel comfortable with who will listen and work with you and tailor the lessons to your needs.
